If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend (and aren’t interested in heading into DC for the Apollo 50 celebration), this Crystal City event might be the perfect way to spend your Saturday night.
The Crystal City Twilighter 5K is an evening race event, and according to the race organizers, “when the sun goes down, we turn up the heat for the most sizzling race of the summer!”
On-site packet pickup starts at 6:30 pm and the race begins at 8:30 pm. The course starts and finishes in front of 2121 Crystal Drive at the Crystal City Courtyard Green. The route is fairly flat and travels through the heart of Crystal City, along Crystal Drive and past Long Bridge Park.
After the race, stick around for an amazing party with food, beer, and music under the stars. There’s even a karaoke competition during the after party, where participants can compete for the title of Karaoke King/Queen and receive a $75 Jaleo gift card. Racers and their supporting friends and family are all welcome at the after party.
Early Bird registration already ended, but you can still save with their Value registration when you sign up by the end of the day today. 5K racers pay $43 and Youth participants pay $28. You can also sign up through the day of the race. 5K racers pay $50 after today; Youth participants still pay $28. And if you need even more reason to join the race, the entire event benefits the Doorways for Women and Families organization.
