When the Arlington County government approved the beautiful and secluded 95.5 acre park for The Glencarlyn Dog Park I doubt they could have imagined the dog park as potentially it’s main attraction.
The Glencarlyn Dog Park offers a wide-range of family activities. From fishing and nature trails, to picnic shelters, playgrounds, amphitheaters and a nature center. The park has it all, and to some peoples’ surprise it is the dog park that most intriguing.
Although it is not fenced in, people are raving about how awesome the dog-park is. “ Best dog-park in the DC Metro area,” according to Becky Wood and her pup. “ My dog had a great time swimming and running around.”
Glencarlyn Park has been open since September 3, 2014. It was founded by the Neighborhood Conservation Program and thus far appears to be a homerun for recreations in the Arlington area.
